May you all have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving! Make some sweet, unforgettable new memories with those you care about. Eat tons then eat some more. It's well deserved!
I won't be responsible for the grunt of the cooking this year (quite relieved!). I'll be making the salad (easy peasy), sweet potato pie (because my "sweet" husband, our Marcus and lil' Amelia lurve it) and the peach cobbler (the cobbler's for me and the Jonas to devour).  I'm getting quite hungry just talking about it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Flo, for short

Greetings kind folks, who read our humble blog!  Have you met Florence Hartigan?  Well, if not, today is your lucky day because we have two purty special videos to share with you.

You see, Florence (or Flo, for short) was the mean mastermind behind this magical night at e&e.  We booked the show with her, and she got her musical wheels turning, and gathered her pretty awesome friends (performers and spectators, alike) to spend this evening with her.

Here she is with "A Little Time." Crowd participation is always a plus! Though I couldn't get the beat right, everyone else did just fine.

Matt Schaefer

As promised, here is a vid of Matt Schaefer playing at the shop. It's pretty darn awesome.  The song, entitled "Mistletoe" is just in time for the upcoming holiday.

Matt Schaefer - Mad World (cover) from Eugene Lee on Vimeo.

It's now November 17 - a few days after I first posted this piece about the wonderful Matt Schaefer.  Eugene just shared this snippet of Matt performing "Mad World," so I had to share it with all of you. Matt preceded by dedicating it to the recent suicides of those students who were harassed and ridiculed for being gay. Take a look at all our faces as we listen intently to his words.  As of this moment, these lyrics have a whole new meaning to all of us in the room.

Both videos shown here are by Eugene Lee, quite a master with the camera, I must say.

Thanks for sharing guys. We'd love to do it again sometime.

our little girl

Our little girl. In her favorite dress.
Two years ago, our customer ... turned model ... turned friend, Micha,  made this darling little frock especially for our little Amelia. Micha duplicated the pattern from a vintage dress she bought from our shop - made a teeny tiny version with some amazing thrifted fabric from her collection.
The day Micha surprised us with this sweet gift, she asked that once Amelia outgrew it, may we return it to her, so she could one day share it with her future munchkins.
It seems that the day has come.  Our favorite dress, made with love by her faerie sister, is now too small.

The first time 'Melia wore the dress - to the downtown farmer's market.
She just turned 4.

At the lavender farm.

Riding a miniature donkey.

Making sand castles with her biggest fan - little brother.

Being swung by her faerie sister and kindred spirit - Micha.

a little newness ...

Greetings, kind folks of this mad mad world. This past week was a busy one;
A Halloween befitted with woodland faeries, Captain America, gypsies, ghosts and such.
Election day through out the country - we voted and received a delicious cupcake from our local bakery,  for doing so [smile].
And, we had fashioned a photo shoot (no pun intended).
A few of our pickins' right here, let us know what you think.
