The Old Zoo

A few weeks ago we took our morning walk along a trail by the abandoned site of the Old Los Angeles Zoo.  A few clicks of the camera captured here.  As we walked by these empty buildings and cages, I couldn't help but wonder which animals could've been housed here, in these too-small habitats of aluminum siding, wire and concrete.

Mildly eerie, yet strangely peaceful.  What do you think this could've been?

Ye bearded one and our little donut, one hand in pocket, walking together in stride.

A wise old tree, arms outstretched in every direction.

An abandoned man-made river.

The grassy knoll.

Puddle jumping.

Us.

The merry-go-round (smile) at the end of the trail.
Closed until Spring, but seeing it always makes me happy.

In the morning a man walks with his whole body; in the evening, only with his legs.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
